Volunteer at EPYG 2019!

Do you want to Volunteer at one of Europe's biggest para-sport events?

Join our team and be a part of European Para Youth Games 2019; being held in Pajuhti, Finland from 25-30th June. By volunteering with us you will have the opportunity to learn new skills, meet like-minded people from across Europe and be part of a unique Volunteer community.

We are looking for outgoing and enthusiastic people who are highly motivated and love sport.

Volunteers must be able to confidently speak English and be aged 16 or older to take part in the event. Other languages and previous experience of volunteering at events is a bonus, but not a requirement.

Volunteer Roles


Competition Events (Specialist)

The job Descriptions of the Breeders include a wide range of tasks related to, among others. conducting competitions, preparing and maintaining Athletes. Tasks depend on the species outdoors and indoors. Depending on the species, some tasks may require physical fitness. Previous experience in office functions is an advantage. Training is organized before the event. Brisk attitude and action are important features. 



The ceremony team is responsible for the building and organising of both the opening and closing ceremonies and daily medal ceremonies. All the ceremonies are held in the Pajulahti Hall (excluding the swimming and athletics medal ceremonies which will be held at their competition venues). In addition the team will be required to take care of our VIP guests. Volunteers in the Ceremony Team must be available to work from 26-30th June.  



The communications team produces text, image and video content for different communication channels and will provide support to customers via social media. Volunteers from the communications team are expected to have previous experience or training in content production. Volunteers in the communication team must have a strong written and oral knowledge of English. In addition Volunteers must be good independent workers, showing initiative and enjoy a fast pace of work. 


Team Hosts

Team hosts are responsible for working directly with participating countries, ensuring their team's are comfortable during their stay in Pajulahti. Team hosts operate both at the airport (arrival and departure) and during competitions in Pajulahti. Team Hosts must be fluent in English and ideally have good local knowledge. Knowledge of other European languages is seen as a bonus, but not a requirement. 


Construction and Logistics

The Construction and Logistics team will be responsible for various construction, renovation and logistics tasks before, during and after the Games. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, installing events and signs, marking travel routes, building and decorating the competition sites. Volunteers in the Construction and Logistics team should ideally have some craft skills and be able to use basic tools, in addition they must be able to work in a team and have a can-do attitude. Volunteers working on logistics tasks also require a driving license


Supplementary Program

The supplementary programme is the education/cultural programme running alongside the competition. The program aims to introduce participants to Finnish and Finnish culture. The task requires fluent English skills, teamwork and a strong attitude.
