Want to Volunteer at one of the biggest Paralympic events in Europe?

Join our team and be part of European Para Youth Games 2019; being held in Pajuhti, Finland from 25-30th June. By volunteering with us, you'll have the opportunity to learn new skills and meet like minded people from across Europe, all whilst experiencing top level Paralympic sport.

We are looking for outgoing and enthusiastic people who are highly motivated and love sport.

Volunteers must be able to confidently speak English and be aged 16 or older to take part in the event. Other languages ​​and previous experience.

Requirements:

Outgoing, enthusiastic and highly motivated attitude. 
Confident English speaker. 
Aged 16 or older.
Participation in Volunteers Training Day
Availability for Volunteer for at least 2 days of the event. 
 

Volunteer Roles

 

Competition Officials

Competition officials will be responsible for a specific sporting event. These include, but are not limited to, assisting the event. Tasks will depend on the level of physical fitness. Previous experience in sports administration is seen as an advantage but not a requirement. Training will be a proactive attitude.

 

Ceremonies

The ceremony team is responsible for building and organizing ceremony and daily medal ceremonies. All the ceremonies are held in the Pajulahti Hall. Our team will be required to take care of our VIP guests. Volunteers in the Ceremony Team must be available to work from 26-30th June.  

 

Communication

The communications team produces text, image and video content for customers via social media. Volunteers from the communications team are expected to have previous experience or training in content production. Volunteers in the communication team must have a strong written and oral knowledge of English. In addition Volunteers must be a good independent worker  . 

 

Team Hosts

Team hosts are responsible for working with their team. Team hosts operate at the airport (arrival and departure) and during competitions in Pajulahti. Team hosts must be fluent in English and have good local knowledge. Knowledge of other languages ​​is a bonus, but not a requirement. 

 

Construction and Logistics

The Construction and Logistics team will be responsible for the construction, renovation and logistics of all tasks. Tasks may include, but are not limited to,  installation and competition sites. Volunteers in the Construction and Logistics team should be able to do some of the skills they need to be able to do. Volunteers working on logistics tasks also require a driving license

 

Supplementary Program

Running alongside the competition. The program aims to introduce participants to Finnish and Finnish culture. The task requires fluent English skills, teamwork and a strong attitude.

Please note, at this moment in time volunteers are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation.
However, once we have confirmed the final event participant numbers, we are hoping to be able to offer some volunteers accommodation based on availability/need. 
Just state in your application if you're only available if accommodation is provided. :)

 

Can only travel to the Helsinki Capital area? No problem!
Our Swimming Competition will be taking place in Helsinki on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June and we'd love your help! 
We'll also need volunteers to help at the Airport on the 24th June and 1st July.
Just state in your application if you're only available to volunteer in the Capital Area.
